Deliver Client Photos with a Branded Private Link

A good hand-off is easy to understand. GetMyFiles combines private-link delivery, supported photo previews and nested folders, with recipient-page branding on eligible paid plans.

Organise the finished collection before sending

Start with the files you intend the client to keep, rather than a working folder containing every draft. Separate deliverables by purpose, for example Final edits, Web copies and Print copies. Folder uploads preserve nested subfolders, so the recipient can browse the same organisation using folder navigation and breadcrumbs instead of receiving one mixed list.

Review folder names before uploading. They remain visible even though original transfer file basenames are replaced. Avoid confidential references in folder labels. Empty folders are not retained. Eligible full-transfer or individual-folder ZIP downloads preserve the structure with generated basenames, making it easier for a client to save the relevant part of a collection.

Plan around anonymous transfer filenames

GetMyFiles never stores or shows original transfer file basenames. A client sees neutral photo labels such as Photo 1, and downloads use generated names. This avoids displaying internal camera or studio filenames that may include a client identifier or working note. The trade-off is that original basenames cannot be used as references on the recipient page.

Explain the collection in your delivery message and refer to its folders. If your client’s workflow needs exact original filenames for relinking, test that requirement before committing to this delivery method. Filename replacement does not strip embedded information or anonymise image contents. GetMyFiles is a delivery tool, not an end-to-end encrypted channel or a substitute for checking permission to share photographs.

Add your identity on Tier 1 or Tier 2

Tier 1 supports basic recipient branding such as your logo, brand name, message and accent colour. Tier 2 and Unlimited support the broader branding level, including additional headline and background options. Save the account branding before creating a new delivery and review the preview so your client receives a clear, recognisable page.

The transfer keeps a snapshot of the branding used when it was created. Updating your account logo later does not restyle links already sent. Keep the delivery message practical: explain the included folders, the intended use and the download deadline. GetMyFiles co-branding remains, so this is not a completely white-labelled domain or a replacement for your studio website.

Pick an allowance that fits the shoot

Guest and Free transfers allow 2 GB and up to 200 files. Free accounts include 10 transfers a month. Tier 1 increases the total to 10 GB and 100 transfers a month; Tier 2 allows 50 GB and 1,000 transfers a month. Check both file count and combined size when delivering high-resolution photographs, not just the number of folders.

The current paid individual-file ceiling is 5 GB. Unlimited removes application-level total-transfer and transfer-count caps, but does not remove file-count, infrastructure or fair-use restrictions. Cloud storage is separate: Free includes 2 GB, Tier 1 50 GB, Tier 2 250 GB and Unlimited 2 TB. It is not accurate to interpret Unlimited as infinite physical storage.

Tier 1 is £8.99/month or £89/year; Tier 2 is £14.99/month or £149/year; Unlimited is £24.99/month or £249/year.

Make the client’s next step unambiguous

Your client does not need an account to open a valid transfer link and download. Supported images can be previewed, but not every camera or professional format will display in a browser. If you deliver an unusual format, explain which application the client needs. Ask them to download and keep a copy rather than treating an expiring link as their permanent archive.

Guest and Free links last 7 days. When creating a transfer, Tier 1 can choose expiry up to 30 days, Tier 2 up to 1 year, and Unlimited can choose never to expire. Changing account settings does not extend an existing link.

Choose the expiry when creating the transfer and include the date in the delivery message. Keep your own backup so a missed deadline does not mean losing the originals. Anyone with a valid link can access the files, even if they were not the original recipient, so share carefully and avoid public posts for private client work.

Know the difference between delivery and collaboration

GetMyFiles does not offer client favourites, image annotations, retouching requests or approval workflows. A supported gallery preview helps someone inspect the delivery, but it is not a proofing system. If approval is needed, agree a separate communication process rather than implying that opening or downloading the link means the client has approved the work.

For ongoing exchange with another GetMyFiles account, My cloud can share folders by email with viewer or editor access. Viewers can view and download; editors can add and delete files in the shared folder. This is account-based file access, not real-time document editing. Use transfers for account-free hand-offs and shared cloud folders when continuing access between accounts is appropriate.

Common questions

Can I add my studio logo on Tier 1?
Yes. Tier 1 supports basic recipient branding. Tier 2 and Unlimited support the broader branding level; GetMyFiles co-branding remains.
Can my client approve or favourite photos?
GetMyFiles does not provide client approvals, favourites or annotation workflows. It provides supported previews and file delivery.
Will the delivery preserve my folders?
Nested folders are preserved in browsing and eligible ZIP downloads, with generated file basenames. Folder names remain visible and empty folders are not retained.
