File sharing, from upload to download.

GetMyFiles sends files through a private link. Start without an account, or sign in for transfer history, private cloud storage and plan-dependent branding.

1. Choose your files or a folder

Use the upload page to select files, pick a folder or drop a folder from your computer. Nested folders stay together. Transfer file basenames are replaced with neutral names such as photo-1.jpg; folder names and file contents are not anonymised.

Guest transfers can contain up to 2 GB and expire after 7 days. The uploader shows the applicable file and transfer limits before you send.

2. Copy and share the private link

Once the upload finishes, copy the transfer link into your email or message. A recipient does not need a GetMyFiles account to open a transfer.

Anyone who has the link can access its files while it remains valid. Keep the link confidential and check who you send it to; it is not a password or proof of identity.

3. Browse folders and download

Recipients can navigate folders, view supported previews and download individual files. Eligible transfers and individual folders can be downloaded as ZIP archives with the folder hierarchy preserved. Large archives may require individual file downloads.

4. Keep ongoing work in My cloud

With an account, My cloud stores files separately from expiring transfers. Root files are private. Share a folder with another GetMyFiles account by its email address, choosing viewer or editor access.

Viewer access is for viewing and downloading. Editors can add and delete files in the shared folder; this is not real-time document editing.

Common questions

Do I need an account to send files?
No. Guest transfers support up to 2 GB with a fixed 7-day expiry. Accounts add transfer history and cloud storage, with additional options depending on the plan.
Are transfer filenames private?
Original transfer file basenames are not stored or shown. Neutral names are generated instead. Folder names and information inside your files can still identify people or projects.
Is GetMyFiles end-to-end encrypted?
No. Files travel over HTTPS and are held in private storage. Do not treat a transfer link as identity verification or an end-to-end encrypted channel.
